Oakes backs British Legion

Exeter's Lib Dem P.P.C., Graham Oakes has called on the Government to honour the Military Covenant with its armed forces.
"This Government have sent the young men and women of our armed forces into a series of hostile situations, often without suitable equipment to do the job."
"Soldiers injured on active service have until very recently received totally inadequate compensation, condemning them, in some cases, to lives reliant on charitable donations."
"They have also provided substandard accommodation for the families and their approach to the families of commonwealth soldiers who have died serving this country in that they have been denied the right to stay here is a matter of national shame."
"The Royal British Legion is campaigning to get a fair deal for our Armed Forces and I support their campaign."
