Leading Liberal joins Lib Dems

Exeter's Lib Dem PPC has welcomed Michael Meadowcroft's decision to join the Lib Dems.

"Michael's decision at the time of the merger not to join the Lib Dem's was a disappointment as he clearly was a very able politician. I am pleased that he has joined the Lib Dems and particularly welcome his comments about other of his former colleagues who are also intending to switch from the Liberals to the Lib Dems"

"In Exeter the Lib Dems are the challengers to Labour and with the backing of all liberal thinking people we can win the seat."
