LIB DEMS BACK NORTHCOTT

The Liberal Democrats are leading the fight to save Exeter 's Northcott Theatre.
On Saturday the Lib Dem's had by far the largest party political presence at the city centre protest against funding cuts.
Liberal Democrat M.P. Richard Younger Ross joined five Exeter Lib Dem councillors, along with the Leader of Devon County Council, Brian Greenslade and prospective parliamentary candidates Sally Morgan (Devon Central) and Graham Oakes (Exeter) at the musical protest.
"The support from passers-by was superb" commented Graham Oakes "with many stopping to enjoy the singing as well as to sign the petition."
"The Northcott provides a range of events that appeal to people across the South West, not just in the city. It is particularly good at providing opportunities for young people to experience how professional productions are mounted."
"Like so many things, the true value of the Northcott will only become apparent to many after it is gone."
"Whilst the Lib Dems were by far the largest political presence it was good to see a couple of Tory councillors turned up as well. The Northcott is important to the cultural future of our city and needs the backing of all local councillors of all parties"
