Lib Dems Take Control

Exeter City Council turned gold last night following the Annual General Meeting of the Council.

Cllr. Adrian Fullam - Leader Exeter City Council

Liberal Democrat, Cllr. Adrian Fullam (St Thomas) was elected Leader of the Council and the party also took over all the Portfolio Holders - who on a day to day basis run Council services.

Cllr. Natalie Cole (St James) becomes Deputy Leader of the Council and will be the Portfolio Holder for Business Transformation and Human Resources.

Cllr. Kevin Mitchell (St James) becomes the Portfolio Holder for the Environment and Leisure.

Cllr. Stella Brock (St. Davids) is now the Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism.

Cllr. Peter Wadham (Alphington) has been appointed portfolio Holder for Sustainable Development and Transport.

Cllr. Rob Hannaford (St Thomas) will take over the position of Portfolio Holder for Housing and Social Inclusion.

They will now form key posts within the decision-making cabinet, who make up the executive. This is an historic moment for the City and new policy initiatives will be announced over the next couple weeks.
