Let Fans Stand

Speaking at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Bournemouth today Graham Oakes, Lib Dem PPC for Exeter called for safe standing areas to be allowed through out football.
"Many fans, myself included, like to stand and sing on the terraces" he said "but when the Grecians are in the Championship the club will need to go all seater."
Graham was speaking in support of a motion that called on the Football Licensing Authority to all all football clubs to introduce safe standing areas.
"Football fans want to be able to choose to sit or to stand and as modern terracing actually improves ground safety they should be given that choice.
