Exwick Youth Council Launched

Graham Oakes, Liberal Democrat PPC for Exeter attended the launch of Exwick Youth Council today.
Commenting after his visit he said:
"I was really impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the young people involved in the project. The Youth Council is led by the young people themselves and has a great future ahead. Hopefully it will be able to build links between younger people and older residents in Exwick, enabling youngsters to focus their energy into positive projects.
"I was impressed by the range of activities but declined the opportunity to learn to break dance.
"I think this model needs to repeated across the city and then link into the new unitary authority to ensure young peoples voices are heard by those in power
"There was genuine enthusiasm from all the young people there and 30 had signed up to join before 2pm.
"I must also praise the various adults involved in launching the youth council."
