Graham Oakes was one of the 13 Lib Dem candidates in the South West who responded to a BBC survey who said they would vote to retain the hunting ban.
Graham said:
"I have always opposed hunting on animal welfare grounds and if there is a free vote in the Commons I would vote to stop the return of this barbaric act.
"The country faces a massive challenge on how we reduce our largest ever deficit without destroying public services. We also need to act to tackle Climate Change yet the Tories want to re-open the Hunting debate. How on earth can this be a priority?"
Graham has always lived in the South West and spent his first 24 years living in a village.
"This is not a rural v urban debate, as most people in rural and urban areas oppose hunting. For me it's a simple issue - hunting animals for fun is wrong."
