Going for gold

The Liberal Democrats in Exeter are going for g.o.l.d. Graham Oakes Liberal Democrat.
With national opinion polls showing Labours vote starting to crumble and the Conservatives in Exeter clearly third the Lib Dems are poised for the best ever General Election result.
Commenting after the last public hustings of the campaign Graham Oakes said:
"The hustings at Exeter College was fantastic. Over 200 students filled the church, with standing room only, a fitting finale to a great campaign. It was clear that only a small numbers of the students would be voting Conservative and the Lib Dems were more popular than labour.
"People often criticise young people for not being interested in politics, but if they had been there they would have been as impressed as I was with the turnout and the high quality of questioning.
"I am confident we will do well in Thursday's poll.
