Ministers Pay Cut Welcomed

Graham Oakes has welcomed the decision to cut Ministerial pay by 5%.

At the new government's first Cabinet meeting it was agreed to reduce Ministers pay as the Conservatives implemented one of their manifesto pledges.

"The government has to set about reducing the deficit and re-establish public confidence in the political system so tarnished by the expenses scandal. Whilst in reality the pay cut is mostly a symbolic gesture, it is to be welcomed."
