Lib Dems at the Respect Festival
Exeter Lib Dems had a stall at this weekends Respect Festival at Belmont Park. The festival, celebrating diversity and promoting tolerance, enjoyed excellent weather and thousands of people viewed a wide range of entertainments.
Local Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson Graham Oakes commented:
"It was a great festival supported by thousands of local people and I would like to congratulate the organisers."
This was the first public event attended by the local Liberal Democrats since the General Election and the formation of the Coalition Government with the Conservatives.
"We had a few people approach us about particular issues and few, all Labour supporters were angry about the coalition. In most cases they were also angry at Labour for failing to agree a deal with the Lib Dems."
"I was particularly pleased that several people decided to become Lib Dem members over this weekend"
