A fairer deal for Exeter allotments

Thanks to our pressure, the inadequate consultation over the price hike for #Exeter allotments will now be reviewed.

Our fully-costed budget proposals ensures a much fairer deal for allotment holders.

Despite having been "fully committed to city allotments" in 2021, Labour's poor handling of Exeter City Council finances mean they are proposing to hike allotment charges by over £20,000 collectively.

Some allotment holders, including senior citizens, face price hikes of up to 77%.

Allotments are shown to be beneficial for nature, sustainability, our physical and mental health.

True to form, Labour are doing as little public engagement as they can get away with. The consultation period is short, until 16th February, and only allotment holders have been emailed to provide feedback. This defies the council's own Consultation Charter and has left many in the dark about the proposed hikes.

Do raise your voice, such as by emailing allotments@exeter.gov.uk and your city councillors.
