Exeter Labour chose to scrap the Heavitree and Whipton low-traffic neighbourhood on world bike day today.

Their sorry saga wastes time, money, and fuels division in the face of Exeter's traffic nightmare.

Taking the Lib Dem grassroots community politics approach – meaningful and responsive stakeholder engagement from the outset – would realise empowering, constructive change.

This is not just me preaching lofty ideals; the Barton Rd roadblocks in St Thomas show how the Lib Dem approach offers a better way.

Following public engagement by Lib Dem Adrian Fullam, six options were proposed. Lots more engagement informed a seventh being decided upon. Now we wouldn’t dream of going back.

We really haven’t seen that responsiveness you’d expect.
