Will Aczel: the local choice fighting for Exeter
A general election has been called for 4th July 2024. Read about our hard-working parliamentary candidate.
I've been a friendly face serving Exeter for several years at independent food stores and cafes, including now at Daily Bowl.
I aim to continue being that friendly face serving Exeter as our city's next MP.
Through these experiences, I'm well aware of the many challenges facing Exeter's small businesses.
VAT is complex and high. I will work hard as our MP to simplify this for businesses with the aim to reduce costs.
Business rates are outdated. Lib Dems will replace it with a Commercial Landowner Levy to improve fairness and incentivise investment.
Energy prices are still brutal. Lib Dems more than tripled renewable energy in government and we'll catalyse another renewable energy revolution. We'll also implement a proper windfall tax on the super-profits of oil & gas giants to lower our energy bills.
Exeter is home to many vibrant businesses - finding it very challenging under the current government. There are 7% fewer UK businesses now than at the last election!
Exeter needs a vocal representative in parliament to get a fair deal for us and our businesses.
