St Thomas
Originally settled by Saxon farmers in the 8th Century, St Thomas expanded rapidly in Victorian times around the new railway. St Thomas's commercial heart and spine is Cowick Street tracing a path towards Dartmoor up Dunsford Hill through newer housing developments which have come to a halt on the brink of the green ridgeline.
St Thomas has an eventful history through trade and conflict having been repeatedly flooded and the focal point of rebellion and Civil War.
It has an interconnected community with many generations of families staying close by in the St Thomas area as well as new arrivals who have settled into this welcoming community.
