Labour mismanagement squanders green investment in Exeter
The Liberal Democrat group on Exeter City have expressed grave concerns about the Labour council’s management of the project to decarbonise the Riverside Leisure centre and the RAMM.
Having spent over half a million pounds of tax payers money and only six months from the end date for the project they have decided not to proceed with this
£6m plus largely government-funded project.
Cllr Michael Mitchell, the Liberal Democrat group leader, said “This is yet again an example of the Labour administration’s mismanagement of city affairs. There is no guarantee the Council will win any future government funding for this project."
Cllr Adrian Fullam said "Modestly funded but vital services like Citizens Advice and Street Cleansing are being cut back while huge sums are wasted like this. These blunders are having a real impact on our local environment and on the most vulnerable who just need some advice to get the help they need."
Cllr Tammy Palmer (Duryard and St James) added “Time and time again we have seen clear examples of poor financial management and decision-making. How on earth can Exeter Labour expect residents to trust them to decide what’s in the best interest of our city?”
