Exeter Lib Dems have been calling for improvements to the policy for several years.

Streets in the Article 4 Direction require planning permission for converting regular houses into Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). This is important to ensure balanced, thriving communities.

We are glad to see Labour agree a review of the policy. This comes after Labour heeded our calls last year for a full-time planning enforcement officer to better monitor streets already in the scheme.

Until 3rd July, the City Council is consulting on how much Article 4 should be extended across Exeter. View the plans and respond.

Exhibitions of the consultation are taking place on:

-7th June, 1-7pm, Exeter Guildhall, High Street, EX4 3EB

-13th June, 1:30-7pm, Newtown Community Centre, Belmont Park, EX1 2HQ

-20th June, 1-7pm, St James Church Hall, Mount Pleasant Road, EX4 7AH
